Igeliask

The nation of Igeliask fell just over a decade ago. King Idor Igeliask was overthrown by his cousin, Duke Imano Kolm. Kolm was supported by a majority of the nobility and by the Stormcallers, the strongest faction within the Wizard’s Guild. The Civil War came to an end when a great demon summoned by the Stormcallers destroyed the port city of Marga, killing King Idor and the majority of the city’s inhabitants. Since the rise of King Imano Kolm, a large number of the populace has fled West to avoid being rounded up in the Stormcaller’s trials. Rumors still circulate of captives being sacrificed or given to demons as slaves.

Igeliask established colonies in the Thousand Isles long before the war. These colonies were some of the first places refugees fled, and now many of the small island towns are at peak capacity. The Igeliaskians are currently looking to expand their influence. A few of the nobility have tried to make sure the old line of rulership remains true. To that end, they have granted boons to those bold enough to gather land for farming or ranching. Their navy, while greatly diminished since the war, remains the strongest of any of the guest nations.

The people of Igeliask have had the hardest time adjusting to the climate of the Thousand Isles, but were some of the first to settle in any number. The Thousand Isles are hotter and more humid than their original country. In addition, the food tends to be much spicier here than it was back “home”. Beef, once a staple food, has been supplanted by the more climately attuned goat and pig. Beer, wine, and other refined liquors have become highly valued as supplies dwindle.
